One of our friendly team members will arrange a conversation with you to discuss your circumstances, motivations and suitability for fostering.

We'll explain what fostering involves, the different types of fostering available and what you can expect throughout the assessment process.

If you decide to continue, we'll arrange an informal home visit.

This gives us the opportunity to meet you in your home, answer any further questions and discuss how fostering could work for you and your family. It's also a chance for you to get to know us better.

You'll begin a comprehensive fostering assessment alongside our preparation training programme.

During this stage, we'll work closely with you to complete the necessary checks and assessments while equipping you with the knowledge, confidence and practical skills needed to become a successful foster carer.

Our experienced team will be there to guide and support you throughout the process.

Once your assessment is complete, your application will be presented to an independent Fostering Panel, which makes a recommendation regarding your approval.

The Agency Decision Maker will then consider the Panel's recommendation before making the final decision.

We'll ensure you're fully prepared and supported throughout this stage and will keep you informed at every step.

Once approved, you'll officially become an Eden Foster Care foster carer.

We'll work closely with local authorities to carefully match you with a child or young person whose needs, circumstances and personality are well suited to your household. Throughout every placement, you'll continue to receive dedicated support, guidance and ongoing training from our team.
