Emergency foster care provides immediate, short-notice placements for children and young people who need a safe and supportive home during a crisis. Foster carers offer stability, reassurance, and care while longer-term arrangements are explored.
Short-term foster care supports children for a temporary period while plans are made for their future. This may include reunification with family, placement with relatives, or a move to a long-term fostering arrangement.
Long-term foster care offers children and young people a stable and secure family environment when they are unable to return to their birth family. It provides continuity, strong relationships, and the opportunity to thrive throughout childhood and beyond.
We recognise the importance of keeping brothers and sisters together whenever possible. Sibling placements help maintain vital family bonds, providing children with familiarity, comfort, and emotional support during times of change.
Staying Put enables young people to remain living with their former foster carers after they turn 18. This arrangement provides ongoing support, stability, and guidance as they transition into adulthood and greater independence.
Children with additional needs require carers who can provide specialist support, patience, and understanding. We work closely with foster families to ensure they have the training, resources, and guidance needed to help each child reach their full potential.
